Auto exposure handles everything from 1\/30s to 1\/700s, the motor handles film advance and rewind, and the camera turns on and off via a sliding cover over the shutter button. The flash is a manually deployed pop-up rather than firing automatically, which is actually welcome if you prefer to shoot without flash by default.
