The modular design is one of its great strengths: film backs swap mid-roll, finders can be changed, and a wide range of Zenzanon-S lenses covers everything from ultra-wide to telephoto. One of the standout practical advantages of the SQ system is the leaf shutter built into each lens, which syncs with flash at every speed up to 1/500s, making it excellent for studio and outdoor flash work. The 80mm f2.8 is the natural standard lens for this system, equivalent to a 50mm in full-frame terms, sharp across the frame and beautifully suited to portraits, street photography, and everyday medium format work.
