The Konica Auto-Reflex holds a genuine place in camera history. Introduced in 1965, it was the world's first 35mm SLR to offer automatic exposure with a focal plane shutter, and it came with a feature that no other camera has ever quite replicated: a lever on the top of the body that switches between full-frame and half-frame format mid-roll, doubling your shot count whenever you want. The fully mechanical shutter works without any battery at all, and the Konica AR mount gives access to an excellent range of Hexanon lenses. The 35mm f2.8 Hexanon AR paired here is a sharp wide angle that gives a broader field of view than a standard lens, well suited to street photography, travel, and environmental portraits, and it renders with the crisp contrast that Hexanon glass is known for.

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can't guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn't an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries.
