The Nikon Nikkormat FT2 is a strong, all metal SLR that feels reassuringly solid in the hands. It is fully mechanical and fully manual, so you choose the shutter speed, aperture and focus yourself, a great way to learn how every setting shapes your photo. Like the earlier FTN, its shutter speed ring sits around the lens, letting you adjust both settings while looking through the viewfinder. The FT2 adds a few useful updates, including a hot shoe for an external flash.
